Coyote Poop

A beautiful fall day for hiking in the wildlife refuge. Sammy had a list for his "badger hunt" which is how he remembers the phrase "scavenger hunt." We found flowers and seeds and geese and ducks and rocks and some some early fall colors. It was so nice to have Tara along to push the stroller so Sammy and Mommy could run and jump and look at seed pods and coyote poop. Sammy was a trooper as he walked almost all of the two and a half hour hike. And how nice to actually have some pictures of the three of us together. Thanks Tara for an awesome morning!

Love the family pic of all three of you! So hard to come by those.
And did you really collect coyote poop??!! When we were in Africa last summer my boy collected hyena poop and little did I know we even smuggled it through customs, shhh. Its now stored safely with all his other myriad of treasures somewhere in his bedroom, nice :)

Hilarious, Anne. But no, we did not actually COLLECT the poop. We just examined it. There were lots of different piles of scat along the trail and we talked about the animals that ate corn and the animals that ate berries and the animals that very clearly ate other animals. Boys love talking about poop. :)

You've inspired me to take one more nature walk this season--I love the photo of looking out at the sky!
