When you're nine years old and you've lived in Florida for a few years yet you can still fondly remember the winters of your childhood in Michigan, a visit north during the holidays must include some sledding. For weeks ahead of Christmas you will watch and wonder if there will be snow, if you'll get a chance to throw yourself down a sledding hill or attempt to snowboard for the first time in your life. If you have a thoughtful and organized mother, she will have bought and shipped winter outdoor gear to Wisconsin so when so many others are bundling up and staying inside with hot cocoa, you will pile onto the small green plastic sled that your Grandma has in her garage, and you will love every minute of sledding with your much younger cousins after the big storm.
Thanks for coming to visit us. I started this blog to follow my quest to become a Single Mother by Choice. When Sam was born this became the place to share our story and contemplate our unusual family as it evolves and grows... and with the arrival of Eva we became a family of three. Stay tuned for stories of growth and change, as well as frustration and exhaustion, compassion and love, joy and delight.

Looks like fun! So where's the shot of TT on the sled?
Looks like everyone had a great time. Sledding and snow a great combination for a short period of time and then hot toddies.
I am all caught up (again) there seems to be a pattern... Your autumn and beginning of winter looks like a happy time. I love that your mom is such a central person in your lives. How wonderful for you and your beautiful children. Your post about Sam's Birthday Party with the thread of the tragedy was especially beautiful. Happy New Year!
I love reading about your adventures! :)
