Thanks for coming to visit us. I started this blog to follow my quest to become a Single Mother by Choice. When Sam was born this became the place to share our story and contemplate our unusual family as it evolves and grows... and with the arrival of Eva we became a family of three. Stay tuned for stories of growth and change, as well as frustration and exhaustion, compassion and love, joy and delight.

Old Friends and Crawling
They definitely weren't here long enough, but Sam and I enjoyed every minute that we got to spend with Kelly and Brian and Zack and Josh. A walk along the Great River State Trail, a hike up to Brady's Bluff, watching The Badgers at The Trempealeau Hotel, burgers on the grill, listening to The Toasters and Louie Prima and Muddy Waters and talking politics while Sammy snuggled into the crook of my arm on the couch. Anyone who popped their head in would have thought it was us visiting them by the way that they took care of us. Kelly was, as always, the generous chef filling me with lots of delicious treats, and Sammy was happy just watching those boys whose legs seem to get longer by the minute. Brian took on the more-work-than-expected task of installing the baby gate, and not a moment to soon. You can see pictures of our weekend with The DeGraves here, but for a look at how Sammy feels about his new found freedom now that he can crawl, watch this video.

Way to go Sammy! He's gotten the hang of that quite well! Big boy!
BARB! I've been waiting for new pics and an update ... Yippee! I love that your video ends on a shot of his big, ole' diaper! Very handsome :)
I LOVED your comments on my last post BTW. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful missive. You are so wise and you have this amazing ability to remain objective and generous-hearted with humanity! ;)
